At this time, McKean Family Law remains open while we work remotely. The business is following the State of California’s executive order to “shelter in place”. Courts are closed with the exception of matters impacting the health and safety of the community, or to preserve Constitutional rights of citizens. Many courts are not taking new non-emergency filings, or have severely reduced services to limit the risk of court personnel and the public.
Our staff continues to work remotely as is recommended by the CDC. We continue to monitor and follow the advice of state and local health officials. Local conditions have influenced the decisions that public health officials are making regarding strategies related to business operations.
Until professional offices are authorized to re-open, we remain available by telephone, email, and teleconferencing. We are working on cases of current clients and are able to accept new clients. If there is an emergency regarding the health and safety of children, or if there is domestic violence in the home, we are able to quickly get court hearings and relief for families.
